I keep it plugged into my computer to read any card that I have. Dissipates enough heat that the card is not hot when removed.

Works great
Works well with both CFExpress and SD cards. As they state the transfer process does create heat but dissipates soon after the transfer is complete and reader is unplugged from the laptop.
